Description
This solo is unique in that this arrangement was written by the hymn’s original composer, the former Tabernacle organist John Longhurst. It is a lovely, reverent, yet powerful arrangement. I classified it as intermediate, although it’s more appropriately classified as late intermediate. It include some larger chords and arpeggios that require a sense of propriety that may not be present in younger players.
This arrangement is appropriate for all church meetings. It is a wonderful choice for teenagers to learn as a special musical number for sacrament meeting. Have you played this arrangement? Let us know what you thought in the comments section!
